Cultivated Monotypes

What’s a monotype? It’s a special, one-off print. No two are the same. Each one is hand-crafted, layer by layer, on a special surface. Then everything is lifted off onto paper.

My Cultivated project calls on my experience as a scientist, a gardener and an artist. After growing plants in my allotment garden, I slice them up and look at them under my microscope. These abstract paintings are based on what I see.
